Liz Cheney and Rachel Maddow:
Wow! What a Combination

I listened late, on 6 December 2023, to the Rachel Maddow interview last Monday with Liz Cheney, former congressman from Wyoming. Cheney has just published a book, Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning, in which she writes what she learned about the efforts of former president Trump and many others to overturn the results of the 2020 election. The book is published at midnight tonight/tomorrow, 6/7 December.

I strongly recommend listening to the interview to realize the seriousness, the danger, of a second term for Donald Trump. Cheney says we must protect the Constitution. She writes that if Trump is elected, it well could be the final election we will have. She then backs up this conclusion with details she has gathered through participating in the House Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection. She is not just making blind statements; she knows the facts and tells them. All the witnesses called before that committee were under oath to tell the truth on pain of perjury if discovered they were untruthful. She says all Americans should step beyond their partisan political positions and unite to protect the republic.

She adds, that if you value the constitution, the republic, if you have the courage to stand up to protect this nation, please consider running for an office, local or statewide or national. Collaborate with other office holders who also commit to protect the laws, the balances of power set up by the Constitution. Get involved. Vote for candidates that you know hold these values, even if they differ on other issues.
